Edmonton workshop to explore urban vegetable cultivation

Edmonton is about to experience the arrival of another spring, and an event will help it to greet the growing season.

The city’s yard gardeners and those who are just curious about the topic of small space horticulture and how to convert their lawn to a productive vegetable plot are encouraged to register for a workshop that will be hosted by Change for Climate Edmonton. They will discover how easy it can be to raise their own food, and all are welcome.

The session will introduce species that tend to do well in an urban environment, and the participants will discover why this sort of gardening can be so important. The facilitator will discuss cultural concerns such as watering, fertilizing and pest control, and harvesting the bounty is also on the agenda. There is no cost to take part, but registration is required, and the event will take place using the Zoom platform.

Many of those who take part in this sort of function are very eager to learn as much as they can. If they provide a mailing address, organizers are able to arrange to have guides and other items, which can be sourced form a brochure printing company, sent out to them.

This instalment of Change for Climate Edmonton’s Lunchbox Series will be held on May 18th. Those who are interested can learn more by visiting its online listing.
