An upcoming Edmonton activity will help its green thumbs score some new perennials for their personal collections.
Twice a year, the Edmonton Horticultural Society hosts a perennial exchange, and these popular events are usually well attended. Along with providing home gardeners with new plants, they supply a venue where people can find new homes for any extras they have left on hand when the leaves first bud out in the spring.
The organizers of the day have explained that each person who brings a plant to swap will receive one credit per item, and these can then be exchanged for a perennial brought by another attendee. Any plants remaining will be sold, and there will also be vendor tables and a spot dedicated to tools and hardware that may be helpful to gardeners.
One of the benefits of attending the swap and sale will be that it will provide the attendees with a chance to meet other green thumbs and have lots of fun. Signage for large events like this can be both designed and printed by a local banner printing company.
The Edmonton Horticultural Society will be hosting its perennial plant exchange on May 28th, and the venue will be released at a later date. Instructions for preparing plants for the activity are available on the group’s website.
