Edmonton seminar to focus on fly fishing

Edmonton fishers who would like to tie their own flies are invited to a seminar provided by a fly fishing expert.

George Daniel, a coach and former competitor for Fly Fishing Team USA and the Joe Humphreys Fly Fishing Program at Pennsylvania State University, will be sharing his skills and knowledge during the Fly Fishing Seminar on the way for MacEwan University. It has been made possible thanks to support from the Northern Lights Fly Fishers Chapter of Trout Unlimited Canada, and it will be a full day event.

Those who attend the seminar will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of various fly fishing techniques, as well as how to use the flies to catch certain species of fish. The importance of proper handling when following catch and release fishing protocols will be on the agenda, and euro nymphing, streamer fishing and lessons learned from competition fishing will be shared.

A workshop or class offers a way for those with an interest in a particular topic to increase their knowledge. Handouts are often provided to the attendees in such a learning event, and these can be prepared by Stationery printers.

The George Daniel Fly Fishing Seminar will be held on February 8th. Its start time is 9:00 am, and early bird tickets on Eventbrite start at $60.00.
