Edmonton festival to celebrate winer

Edmonton winters often bring sub-zero temperatures, but an upcoming festival will celebrate this season and some European culture.

Both Ukrainian and Russian culture play a significant role in the history of the community, and “Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Adventure” will celebrate the “Olde New Year” of these cultures with the general public. There will be lots of activities to enjoy, which will be held both indoors and outdoors.

The agenda for the two-day festival is packed with fun. A curling bonspiel is just one of the options, and there will also be snow wagon rides, a log cutting competition, street hockey and winter mini golf. In addition, the renowned giant ice slide will also be making its return.

Ice sculptors are also prepping to show off their talents, and enjoying a hot chocolate paired with an assortment of some traditional Canadian cold weather fare will be the order of the day.

The event is set to make its return in January, and to help make sure everyone can be safe while having fun, COVID prevention protocols have been put into place. Stationery printers can create screening Forms and other documents that can help prepare for an event like this.

The 2021 Deep Freeze festival will bring Edmonton together on January 16th and 17th. The activities will be held at various locations throughout the city.
