The 14th annual Edmonton Poetry Festival is taking place in the city for a week this month.
Events will be held at various venues throughout the city and all types of poetry will be showcased. There will be storytelling, poetry readings, and the Edmonton Slam final.
Among those who will be appearing at the festival are Buddy Wakefield, Anna Marie Sewell, Ahmed Knowmadic, and Rayanne Haynes.
Several workshops will be held over the week, some free and some paid. Among the free workshops will be ‘Let us compare mythologies: digital tools for poets’ to be held at The Matrix Hotel, which will feature several of the festival's featured poets and authors. Tickets are $50 with a $10 discount for Edmonton Poetry Festival Society members.
Paid workshops will include ‘Home and away: writing our lands’ which will take place at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden and feature Jenna Butler; tickets cost $55 and only 18 will be available.
