Major film festival heads for Perth
Perth will welcome an epic annual festival dedicated to film this winter.
Movie buffs in Perth won’t want to miss a 12-day event headed for the city and its surrounding area in July. Winter will see the capital of WA once again play host to “Revelation, The Perth International Film Festival” with screenings taking place in the city centre and its satellites like Fremantle.
Cinemas and picture houses participating in film festivals often rely on poster printing services as a proven way to produce engaging advertisements for the titles they present.
Known as “Rev” for short, the long-running festival has been held annually for 27 years. While its humble origins saw it begin in a basement in Perth’s iconic jazz venue, the Greenwich Club, today it is considered among Australia’s most respected and beloved independent festivals for film.
Each year, more than 500 titles are submitted to the festival for consideration from Australian and international film makers. Films screened during the festival encompass a wide range of genres with an especially strong presentation of documentary and experimental works. Along with film screenings, the festival also features an extensive selection of industry events and activities including talks, conferences, seminars and workshops.
Revelation, The Perth International Film Festival will run at selected venues across the capital and its suburbs from Wednesday, July 2 to Sunday July 13.
