Werribee to welcome artistic showcase

Locals in Werribee are getting ready for the JXSH MVIR: Forever I Live showcase, coming to the suburb in July.

This retrospective event honours the late artist, Josh Muir (1991-2022). A Yorta Yorta, Gunditjmara, and Barkindji man, Muir was known for his vibrant pieces that were inspired by pop and street art and spanned digital media, paint, neon, and augumented reality experiences.

Muir’s works were characterised by his bold use of colour, his use of geometric patterns, and his inclusions of modern iconography and themes of culture, the impacts of colonisation, mental health, loss, grief, and addiction.

This exhibition celebrates Muir’s artistic practice and acknowledges the important, healing role that art held in his life.

The event has been co-curated by Shanaya Sheridan, Muir’s partner, his mother Justine Berg, and the team of curators at Koorie Heritage Trust.

Organisers of art exhibitions can utilise graphic design to create engaging and meaningful advertising that draws interest from a broad section of the local community.

JXSH MVIR: Forever I Live opens on Thursday, 10 July, 2025, at the Wyndham Art Gallery, 177 Watton St, Werribee, VIC 3030. The opening night event will begin at 6:00PM and conclude at 8:30PM. Following opening night, the exhibition will be held from Friday, 11 July until Friday, 28 September 2025 during gallery opening hours. Attendance is free.
