Ethical Property Investments (EPI) was established with the aim of building quality and affordable accommodation for community groups with specific housing needs and those at risk for homelessness. Finished residences are leased to service providers, including domestic violence organisations and other community service agencies, who then tenant the homes.
According to EPI Director Goro Gupta, EPI homes can involve modified designs and accessibility features to suit their intended residents, as was the case with EPI’s first property, a large six-bedroom house in Werribee. Speaking to Star Weekly, Gupta, who has related sector experience as the co-director of an NDIS disability housing provider, Empowered Liveability, said:
“We consult very heavily with providers, we give them what they need to provide very a high-quality workspace and what tenants need as well.”
EPI targets small-scale investors for its properties. Joseph and Lucy Philipos, investors in EPI’s current project, a home in Doreen, said they were motivated to invest in that initiative by a sense of satisfaction that their investment is contributing to the social good. Real estate and investment projects can call on Print shops for brochure printing and for other marketing materials.
Gupta said EPI is aiming to support “often-forgotten Australians” by delivering 30 new homes over the next year.Get a Free Quote for Print
