Werribee Gorge Circuit Hike to take place in February

This February, nature enthusiasts can hike the 13 kilometre Werribee Gorge Scenic Rim Circuit.

The hike will originate in the picnic area, located at Miekles Point. Hikers will then follow the path along Werribee River in the westward direction. Points of interest on the way include the historic Shelter Shed from 1908, the Ironbark Gorge, Needles Beach, and Pyramid Rock.

As the hike has a grading of 3 to 4, there are some tricky navigational points along the way. The trail running below the rim and along the river is flat, but the steeper and less uneven sections of the circuit require a decent fitness level. There is one part of the hike of around 50 metres where one has to climb a rock wall. There is a cable handrail for assistance and as this section is located above the water, it may appear less daunting.

Organisers of outdoor events such as this often use poster and brochure printing services to attract potential visitors.

The hike is located within the Werribee Gorge State Park. For those travelling from the city, the car park can be found by getting off at the exit to Pentland Hills Road, followed by a left onto Myers Road. Signs will guide drivers to the park.

The Werribee Gorge Scenic Rim Circuit Hike will occur on Sunday 23rd February. It is estimated that it will take five hours to complete running from 9:30am to 3pm.
