The Werribee South Beach Master Plan has been released for public comment by Wyndham Council. The proposal, part of Wyndham’s Coastal and Marine Management Plan, aims to shore up the attraction of local visitors and tourists to the area and will include improved access for wheelchairs, safe traffic routes for cyclists and for vehicle drop-offs, and upgraded amenities. Further suggestions include a seating deck, playground, picnic and outdoor fitness equipment, an area for food trucks and a focus on shade trees, lawns and coastal gardens.
In a statement, Mayor Peter Maynard said the planned upgrade:
“Will put our beautiful coast at the forefront of everyone’s minds.”
On Port Phillip Bay, the state government, through Better Boating Victoria, is seeking public feedback on plans to upgrade the Werribee South Boat Ramp. Along with parking realignment and better vehicle access routes, suggestions include additional boat ramp lanes and pontoons for one of the busiest boat facilities in the area.
With funding from the government’s $33 million Better Boating Fund, Tim Pallas, Member for Werribee, said:
“We’re investing in facilities like this to ensure more families can get out on the water and enjoy quality time together in the great outdoors.”
Printing services often play a role in the communication of proposed and approved changes to local area infrastructure, including through flyer printing.
Comments on the proposals are due to the Wyndham Council and Better Boating Victoria by 13 and 17 December respectively.
