A COVID-19 recovery response initiative, the Workshop Delivery Grant is backed by $10,000 from the council, with applicants able to apply for funding of up to $1,000 for a range of costs, such as venue hire, facilitator fees or printing services.
According to Mayor of Wyndham City Adele Hegedich, the grants offer a great opportunity for residents to connect with some of the area's emerging and established arts professionals, while also helping the creative sector of the community, which has been hard hit by COVID. She added:
“The ‘Workshop Delivery Grant’ is an excellent opportunity for local creatives who had to postpone workshops in 2020 due to COVID.”
Hegedich said the grants were available to all Forms of art, such as music, film, photography, theatre, writing, ceramics, visual art and dance.
The latest initiative follows an allocation of $27,000 by the council last year to support creative locals through the Creative Industries Micro-Grant programme, and it is seen by the council as a way to get the arts thriving again within the local community. It is urging all creatives in the local area who have an idea they wish to put into action to apply.
Applications can be made until 9am on March 1. Further information about the Workshop Delivery Grant is available on Wyndham Council's website.
