The public were first approached for feedback on the proposed plans in 2021. Adjustments were then made to the concept design, including enhancing the reserve's natural elements by establishing a new wetland, relocation of the play area and the provision of a large space of open lawn.
The latest improvement proposals to be considered range from a half court area with shade and seating, new play space with picnic areas, and new wet area to a fenced off-leash dog area, large lawn area, public toilets and landscaping and furniture improvements.
Mayor of Wyndham City, Peter Maynard encouraged the community to provide their feedback on the future of the reserve which he described as a green haven set in the centre of Hoppers Crossing's residential sector. He added:
“It’s a little haven tucked amid houses and Skeleton Creek - residents and the local wildlife have flocked to this space and improvements will only add to its vibrancy.”
Flyer printing campaigns have often helped alert community members to opportunities to have a say on key local projects such as Rosslare Court Reserve.
Feedback can be provided online by 11 December, 2022 and Council will also hold drop-in sessions on site at the reserve from 11am to 1pm and 3 to 6pm on 6 December for those who would like to find out more about what is proposed.
