Young writers festival set for Narre Warren

Bunjil Place Library in Narre Warren will be hosting an event for young writers this month.

The festival will be held over two days and will feature live readings and workshops hosted by award-winning authors and poets. Young people aged 10 to 18 with an interest in writing can attend and mix with other like-minded young writers.

The award-winning authors who will be are attending are George Ivanoff, Joel Mckerrow, Emilie Zoey Baker and Cath Crowley. All have numerous awards in the written word across fiction and poetry and are accomplished speakers and educators.

Ivanoff will present a creative writing workshop on day one. He will pass on valuable insights from the publication of over 100 titles in various literary disciplines. McKerrow will host a poetry workshop later the same day, followed by Baker presenting an open mic spoken word and poetry workshop.

Day two will feature Crowley, who has published young adult fiction in Australia and globally. She also has many awards to her name, including the Prime Minister's Literary Award for Young Adult Fiction. Crowley will present the character development workshop.
