Narre Warren tennis enthusiasts will be among hundreds of locals taking part in the 2017 Casey Tennis Week programme.
The major event, which follows hot on the heels of the Australian Open Championships in Melbourne, is being presented jointly by local tennis clubs and the City of Casey Council with support from Tennis Victoria.
Mayor Cr. Sam Aziz said the annual tennis week will provide fun for all abilities, ages, and interests across the city, whether playing for the first time or a court regular.
He said it is obvious by the number of people wearing Promotional Products from major grand slam tournaments like the Australian Open that the sport attracts a great following and is extremely popular.
The hype, he added, from Melbourne’s big week of tennis is certain to inspire residents to get onto the local courts and try their luck with the racquet in a fun community-based environment.
Mayor Aziz said this year’s Casey Tennis Week is set to be the largest ever held, with the event hosting 40 free activities and involving just about all tennis clubs in the City of Casey.
The huge programme will include competitive, social and `come and try’ events, as well as cardio tennis, free court hire, coaching sessions, and Hot Shots sessions.
Morning teas and sausages sizzles will also add to the fun family atmosphere at many events.
Casey Tennis Week will be held from January 29 to February 5.
