Strip Art Show to be held in Berwick

With just over four weeks until the South East Contemporary Art Network (SECAN) holds its inaugural 2016 Strip Art Show, anticipation is building for the upcoming exhibition, which is expected to attract artists from all around Australia.

The Flyers for the event have been visible for several months around Berwick and the nearby suburbs of Narre Warren and Officer, with this event to be the first of what SECAN plan to be a yearly exhibition. Entry to the show will be completely free and the artist’s works will be available for sale.

Strip art falls under the banner of contemporary art and is classed by SECAN as:

“Art work that is created in a strip format. The artist must conform to a one to three perspective (for example: 10cm x 30cm, 30cm x 90cm) however it can be of any size up to 60cm x 180cm. It must be able to be hung either horizontally or vertically.”

The exhibition, which will be held at the Gate 6 Gallery in Berwick, is part of the City of Casey’s Winter Arts Festival. This runs from June to August and has no doubt utilised local printing companies for brochure and flyer printing to advertise the upcoming exhibitions, class and seminars, which cover a wide range of arts from theatre and contemporary art to music and dance.
The Strip Art Show runs from July 15 to 17.
