A new event is being added to residents’ Calendars in Narre Warren and throughout the City of Casey, Victoria.
Mayor Sam Aziz has announced that a one-off event held at the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick earlier in the year as a trial was so successful that it will now become a regular event for families to enjoy as part of their summer outings
The Tasty Tunes event, he said, will combine food trucks and live music in a setting on the Old Cheese Factory site.
Cr. Aziz said the first Tasty Tunes, held in April, attracted in excess of 1,000 people. This prompted Council to repeat the experience with a series of events to be staged between now and April 2017.
All residents, friends and relatives are welcome to attend the event, which the Mayor said will include a top selection of music acts along with sweet and savoury food treats available from the mobile cafes on wheels.
Both lunchtime and twilight sessions will be held and Cr. Aziz said the ultimate aim is to provide an affordable, fun and relaxing day or evening out for the entire family, friends and couples. Children are also catered for with the availability of a large playground, he said.
Dates for the first Tasty Tunes lunchtime events have been set down for this Sunday, September 25 and October 23, while Twilight events are scheduled for November 27 and December 17.
