Narre Warren to hear Aussie comedy

A stand-up comedian from New South Wales, well-known for his appearances on TV and radio, will soon be appearing in Narre Warren.

The multi-talented Tom Gleeson will be onstage in Narre Warren this summer. Not just a stand-up star, but a writer and presenter of radio and television shows, Gleeson will be bringing his unique brand of comedy to the suburb for a single-night performance in December.

Narre Warren venue Bunjil Place, which features a stylised letter B in its Logo Design, has booked the comic to showcase his latest material to comedy fans in the city in the run up to the festive season.

Born Thomas Francis Gleeson in 1974, the NSW comedian formerly worked with Judith Lucy co-hosting The Weekly, but today presents popular programmes like Taskmaster Australia and Hard Quiz. 2019 saw Gleeson win the coveted Gold Logie Award in the “Most Popular Personality on Television” category.

When Gleeson began his career as a comic, it was as a character called "Malcolm", where he dressed in tracksuit pants and a flannelette shirt while wearing a wig. Later, he earned acclaim performing at comedy festivals, before a stint entertaining Australian troops on duty overseas. He wrote a book based on his experiences, which was published in 2008.

Tom Gleeson will be at Bunjil Place on Friday, December 8. The venue is based at 2 Patrick NE Drive in Narre Warren.
