Narre Warren duck rescued from harrowing ordeal

A local woman is being praised for stepping in and helping a local duck that had been cruelly dumped in a rubbish bin in Narre Warren. The duck was wearing a lead and collar and was noticeably distressed by its ordeal. The lady in question quickly took the duck to Woofpurnay Veterinary Clinic where it received professional attention and treatment.

The duck is now being taken care of by the president of Animal Rescue, Sharon Williamson, who has welcomed it to her home. The duck has also been accepted by her current flock. However, it seems it will take some time for the duck to settle and get over the terrible experience it suffered. Sharon said:

“Normally peking ducks are quite forward but this one is still very timid.”

She went on to say that:

“It was very freaked out and scared.”

Cruelty to animals of any kind and in any way is always received in communities like this with horror and outrage but luckily there are caring people such as the lady who rescued the duck and places like Animal Rescue. Organisations like Animal Rescue provide care and homes for animals and raise money in a number of different ways through adoption programs, fundraising events, postcard printing, card making and many other techniques too. The work carried out by these organisations and by those within the community always deserves our attention and praise.

If you would like to get involved, there are many ways to raise money and you should contact your local animal rescue organisation for further information.
