Narre Warren area welcome major movie event

An annual occasion celebrating cinema will soon take place in the coastal capital of Victoria.

Fans of the silver screen from Narre Warren and other suburbs will soon get a chance to attend the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), which will be held at various locations around the city. Cinemas and picture houses taking part in major film festivals often look to experienced poster printing services to create advertisements promoting the titles they are screening.

While 2020 saw the event go online, the 2023 edition of Melbourne MIFF will once more be taking place in the city. Dating to 1952, the event is among the longest-running film festivals in the world. Melbourne has a longstanding relationship with film history. The first ever full-length feature was filmed in Melbourne and enjoyed its premier on December 26, 1906 at the Melbourne Athenaeum theatre.

The festival is known for showing films sourced from all over the world and prides itself on offering adventurous, bold and entertaining programming. It is dedicated to giving locally made films appropriate attention, which has led it to become the biggest Australian cinema showcase in the country.

MIFF also features different awards categories, which include the short film competition and the MIFF Audience Awards.

The Melbourne International Film Festival will start on Thursday, August 3 and run until Sunday, August 20 at selected venues across the state capital.
