Arts organisations in Narre Warren and across the City of Casey that operate under the not-for-profit model are being offered an opportunity to secure grants from $3,000 to $10,000.
Applications will soon be invited as part of the city's Arts Development Funding Grant, which targets community organisations that primarily have an arts focus and aims to help them to improve, expand and create new and innovative arts programmes.
Chair of Administrators for the City of Casey, Noelene Duff, said 2020 has been a challenging time for the area's arts industry, and the council was committed to providing it with support.
Duff said the grants will give them the necessary resources to improve or expand current activities and programmes, which will in turn benefit community members.
Previous grant recipients have used the funds for everything from paying for venues to utilising printing services for marketing materials.
Art and Soul Victoria's Dr Michelle Sanders said the grant funds had allowed the organisation to expand activities to include children with anxiety, and also to help people cope with long-term depression.
The diversity of opportunities available in the arts across Casey is extensive, and ranges from digital and literary to visual and performing arts. The council is urging everyone to apply.
Online support for applicants will be available during a special information session at 6.30pm on October 6. Applications will be accepted between October 5 and November 6, 2020.
