Theatre fans in Narre Warren will have the opportunity to experience pieces of some of the most well-loved Romeo and Juliet retellings from around the world this August.
The Casey Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by a range of Australian actors act to present an evening of romance, adventure, and tragedy, inspired by one of Shakespeare's most famous plays.
Featuring songs from famous works inspired by Romeo and Juliet including Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet: Fantasy Overture, Bernstein’s West Side Story, Berloiz’s Romeo and Juliet: Love Scene, and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet. The Casey Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking to bring a captivating live music experience to an audience of classics lovers.
The orchestra's performance will be punctuated by sonnets and scenes from Shakespeare’s catalogue, brought to life by performers from Ozact, a Shakespeare troupe dedicated to bringing professional performances of Shakespeare's works to the Greater Melbourne community.
