Council has called for applications to exhibit artworks for free in key locations across the City of Casey.
Narre Warren, Victoria artists are among many talented residents in Melbourne’s south-east encouraged to apply, according to Mayor Mick Morland.
Cr Morland said exhibiting works by local artists across the region had been a regular feature of venues such as the Civic Centre Art Space since 1997, and the practise had become a popular annual event.
He said many creative works, including 3D and digital formats, could be displayed in major art spaces at Endeavour Hills, Doveton and Cranbourne libraries.
Cr Morland said it was important to showcase the talents of local residents and with four exhibition spaces available throughout the municipality, there were plenty of opportunities for local residents to view the standard of work being produced in the region without travelling long distances.
He said applications were open to artists specialising in a wide variety of mediums including film, digital art, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, photography, printmaking and painting.
Successful applicants, he said, would have a great opportunity to gain exposure via brochure printing, venue advertising and display and may even potentially sell items to interested buyers attending the exhibitions.
Artists have until Friday, October 16 to submit their applications.
Application packs for artists and further information are available on the City of Casey’s website.
