The Australian Feldenkrais Guild Inc. will be holding a workshop to make people aware of how they use screens and to help them develop a healthy screen habit.
As we spend more and more time watching screens for work and entertainment, the hours spent sitting gazing at a screen cause many people to develop poor posture which can lead to the development of chronic neck pain, shoulder soreness, eye strain and disturbed sleep.
This workshop will help participants reduce neck, shoulder and eye tension and learn how mindful movement can help users maintain screen fitness.
The Feldenkrais method works to improve life through better posture, breathing, movement and sensation. Using movement, touch, guided imagery and body awareness, trained practitioners help clients make useful long-term improvements to their posture and movement. The method can aid recovery form painful injuries and neurological issues and help athletes and performers attain peak performance. People often find that their overall health improves with better thinking ability, attention, emotional resilience, balance, coordination and easier breathing.
Organisers of workshops such as this often use printing services to create course material for attendees to take home to help them remember what they have learned.
The workshop will be held at Southern Yoga School, which is located at 24 Station Street in Moorabbin on Sunday 20th October from 1:30pm to 5pm.
