The town of Moorabbin will soon channel its energy into a night of rocking out.

Residents will be packing their guitars alongside school lunches as an epic Battle of the Bands function is set to take place in a local school playground.

The Parents Battle of the Bands: Bayside Battle will see five different bands, from five different public schools, made up exclusively of parents showcasing their ability to still rock a room.

All proceeds will be going directly to the funding of the musical programs of the participating schools.

The bands that are competing in this event and the schools they represent are System of a Playground from Edithvale Primary School, Kiss N Go representing Hampton Primary School, CarPool from Sandringham East Primary School, The Drop Offs rocking out of Patterson Lakes Primary and Sandringham Primary (with a band name to be confirmed).
