Home-educated teenagers in Moorabbin and surrounding areas are invited to attend Ancient Philosophy Texts Explored, a four-part workshop series beginning in May.
Teens will join organiser and home-educator Marjorie Solomon to unpack some of the most foundational works of Ancient Greek thinkers, exploring how their ideas have shaped our views of the world, truth, ethics, and the human condition.
The workshop will consist of four weekly sessions, in which attendees will explore the texts of Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, and the Neo-Platonists and then engage in an interactive discussion surrounding emerging ideas.
During the workshop, students will be encouraged and supported to express diverse views and to develop inquisitive, independent thought, with opportunities to share their ideas and contribute to collaborative discussion and inquiry.
Organisers of similar community events can utilise bespoke Logo Design to promote their business and services and effectively advertise their events and offerings.
The Ancient Philosophy Texts Explored workshop series will be held over four consecutive Thursdays – May 15, May 22, May 29, and June 5 – at the Fusion Oakleigh Youth and Community Centre, 185 Warrigal Road, Hughesdale. The sessions will begin at 11:00AM and conclude at 2:00PM, and the cost is $60 for the whole series or $20 for each individual session. Students are welcome to join the Fusion community lunch, with a cash donation suggested. To register, please visit the Humanitix website.
