Moorabbin music fans to enjoy emo icons

An American rock group well known for their influence on the emotional hardcore (“emo”) scene will be playing a gig in Victoria this year.

Renowned US rockers My Chemical Romance (often abbreviated to My Chem or MCR) will be playing at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne as part of their upcoming tour of Australia. Promoters and organisers of gigs at stadiums and auditoriums sometimes enlist the aid of banner printing services to produce large-scale signage for major events like this.

Founded in New Jersey, the band released their debut album called “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love” back in 2002 after signing with Eyeball Records. By 2003, the group were snatched up by major label Reprise, which led to critical commercial success, including a platinum album and a loyal fanbase.

While predominantly a rock group, My Chemical Romance are commonly connected to the emo scene and have been a major inspiration for numerous up-and-coming groups since they started recording and performing.

Moorabbin fans of the band’s sound taking in the show will get a chance to hear a setlist packed with My Chemical Romance classics like “Welcome to the Black Parade”, “Teenagers”, “The Ghost of You”, “Famous Last Words”, “Disenchanted” and “Helena”.

My Chemical Romance will take the stage at the Rod Laver Arena on Olympic Boulevard in Melbourne, Victoria on Thursday, March 17.
