A critically acclaimed singer-songwriter from America who has amassed a huge online following will play live in Melbourne later this year.
Music fans from Moorabbin and other Melbourne areas won’t want to miss a chance to see US artist Alec Benjamin when he takes to the stage at Max Watts for a single-night performance.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Benjamin had a breakthrough hit with his 2018 track "Let Me Down Slowly" which entered the top 40 in more than 25 different countries and has been streamed over a billion times on the popular music platform, Spotify. The artist is a self-starter and after a deal with Columbia Records fell through, he funded his own tour of Europe supporting Marina Kaye. To promote his work, he has played live performances in car parks outside gigs and distributed his Business Cards.
While Benjamin mainly sings and writes songs in English, he has released versions of certain like songs "Devil Doesn't Bargain", "The Way You Felt", "Older" and "Water Fountain" in Mandarin Chinese. The singer-songwriter has cited numerous musicians as influences and inspiration for the music that he creates including Eminem, John Mayer, Paul Simon, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
