Live music to feature at Moorabbin's Pop Up Bar

The fun and activities associated with the city's Pop Up Bar will make a welcome return to Moorabbin's Kingston City Hall in February.

To be held each Friday night during February, the event provides locals and visitors with an opportunity to enjoy a mix of gourmet food from mobile trucks, DJs and live music without venturing out of their own neighbourhood.

Mayor of Kingston Steve Staikos said that organisers had lined up a great array of musical talent to entertain crowds each weekend until the end of February, with Brian Mannix and The Androids kicking off the live music programme on February 5 with classic rock and roll hits.

Top Aussie 80s tribute band Stand and Deliver will take the stage on February 12, followed a week later by The Robbie Williams Experience, which will bring popular covers from the past few decades to the stage. Music from the 1960s to 80s, performed by The Marty Rose Band, will complete the extensive music programme planned for the bar.

Many of the artists have previously been the focus of poster printing campaigns, which advertise their shows at various venues around the country.

The mayor said visitors are required to register online at the official Kingston Arts website, adding:

“This will be the ninth year that the Pop Up Bar brings family-friendly fun to the historic Kingston City Hall forecourt – and we’re delighted to be able to bring it back after the year that we’ve had.”
