A melting pot of spices and sounds would best describe the 2014 Globe to Globe Music Festival to be held at Clayton, near Moorabin, Victoria in a couple of weeks.
In celebration of the vast number of the cultures who now call Australia home, the festival brings together a host of craft-makers, culinary masters and performers for a full day of activities and fun for all ages.
Revellers will be treated to energy packed shows from popular local performers including In 2 Worship interdenominational choir, whose members include vocalists from across Africa.
Described as providing a platform for youth to show off their talent, the choir presents a new style of music, which reflects the soul of gospel. It currently hosts 16 vocalists but is attracting more every day, according to choir leader Emison Matema.
Adding a different beat to the festival will be Japanese drum ensemble Wadaiko Rindo, whose members have thrilled past audiences with their dynamic and energy-filled performances.
The entertainment will culminate with an evening concert by Melbourne-based 11-piece outfit The Bombay Royale, fresh from appearances in New York.
The unique musical style of Bombay Royale, which reflects the 1960s and 1970s golden era of Bollywood together with original music written by band members, is certainly something original. The group released its debut album `You Me Bullets Love’ in 2012.
