The fun of the big top will transcend generations when Kingston Council brings together residents of all ages to participate in a series of free circus workshops.
The innovative project is open to residents from Moorabbin, Victoria, and surrounding areas aged from 12 to 100.
The free weekly workshops will focus on building circus skills. Organisers say the aim was also to bridge generation gaps, so people of all ages could take part and collectively enjoy the innovative project.
They said for anyone who had ever dreamed of one day running away to the circus, learning a few skills first would be a great place to start.
The course is the fourth annual intergenerational programme to be held by Kingston Council, according to Mayor Geoff Gledhill.
He said it catered for all skill levels and ages, from beginners to accomplished performers.
Mayor Gledhill said the idea was to build strong connections between community members by allowing them to share common experiences and interests.
He said previous workshops, advertised on the council website and via flying printing, had been well attended by both young people and others in their 60s.
The circus skills workshops will continue each Monday – from 5.30pm to 6.30pm until June 22nd – at Moorabbin's Little Devils Studio in Chesterville Road.
