Print Companies in Braeside

Braeside sits 26 km south east of Melbourne CBD, and a matter of minutes to the beaches of Port Phillip Bay. The information that the 2006 census put Braeside's resident population at six persons should indicate clearly that this is a mainly industrial suburb.

The suburb comes under the City of Kingston local government area.

Braeside's industry has grown up over the past thirty years, and now includes the Woodlands Industrial Estate, with tenants such as Tyco, Wilson, the distribution arm of Kmart, Toro and Gale Pacific. There is a good market here for print companies, for services supporting industry, such as flyer, brochure and catalogue printing, as well as digital printing and the provision of stationery.

The City of Kingston provides services to local industry and business through advice on government grants and local networking. It boasts that the municipality is a very important manufacturing centre in Australia, with Melbourne's highest concentration of small to medium industry, complete with a numerous and multi-skilled workforce working in the highest number of manufacturing jobs of any Victorian local government area. The need for promotion through the work of print companies is great.

Mentone Grammar School also has a campus here, including sports fields and even a rifle range. There is, as well, a garden nursery, and the Braeside Park Community Garden – established under a State government program promoting social and physical health - and community centres for local ethnic Italian and Croatian communities, as well as commerce such as Gardenworld and J.V. Marine World.

Of particular interest to the environmentally and recreationally-minded – as well as printers of postcards – is the Braeside Park reserve, which is something of an oasis with its walking and biking tracks and includes some important heathland with spectacular views. The Southern Golf Club attracts weekend players from miles around.
