International Women’s Day (IWD) is set to be celebrated in style soon with an event that features entertainment, food and drink. The day has been marked for over 100 years, and celebrates women’s achievements, considers gender equality and raises awareness around discrimination.
Collective action and shared responsibility are what governs IWD. Gloria Steinem, renowned feminist and activist, once said:
“The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”
During the Richlands IWD, the comedian Kat Davidson will be curating the comedy. There will also be live music from Lavish Duo, and talks from motivational speakers.
Food such as mini lamb skewers, marinated haloumi and turmeric chicken will be served, with cocktails served by event sponsor Chambord.
Those opting for goodie Bags will receive items such as wine glasses, candles, Notebooks, Pens and hair scrunchies, all packaged in a branded bag. Often, local Print shops are engaged to provide marketing materials for community events.
International Women’s Day is taking place on 8 March, from 2 pm until 6 pm. The venue for this celebration is The Lion Richlands, which can be found at 133 Pine Road in Richlands. Tickets cost from $99.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Notebooks Get a Free Quote for Pens Get a Free Quote for Bags
