Art class to come to Capalaba

A Capalaba art society is holding a nature-focused learning experience involving the use of popular drawing materials.

Creative people in the city can participate in this art class, which is titled “Nature Studies in Coloured Pencil”. The engaging session is aimed at adults and lets them get immersed in the natural world’s beauty through drawing with the much-used medium.

Artists who paint and draw sometimes connect with specialist printing services for high-resolution Copies of their pieces to present in portfolios or to sell online as artworks.

The class is led by arts educator Kerry Daley, and is designed for individuals of all levels of artistic ability. Students will learn how to build, blend and layer colours while recreating the Forms and textures found in flowers, leaves, seeds, fish and insects, among other natural subjects.

Budding artists joining the event can build their confidence in multiple drawing disciplines including composition, observation, technique and working with light and colour to develop their unique style. While all materials are provided, participants are also welcome to bring along their own.

The Nature Studies in Coloured Pencil class will take place on Monday, June 1 at the Redland Coast Art Society. The session has a start time of 10 am and finishes at 1 pm, and the venue is located at 53 Mount Cotton Road in Capalaba.
