The $72 million project, to be undertaken by the Maple Development Group, will provide an exceptional eco-precinct including a wellness retreat and hotel standing five-storeys high, that combines healthy lifestyles and community connections with education and environmental awareness.
Mayor of Moreton Bay, Peter Flannery welcomed the new development saying it was ideally suited as a major investment in the region as it would address an ever-growing need for hotel rooms. He added:
“Not only is this a high-end and eco-friendly development, it will help to provide much needed accommodation for visitors in a tourism market that’s currently surging beyond expectation."
Developments such as the new eco-lifestyle precinct can also boost demand for other local businesses such as printing services.
The precinct is set to become an important tourism and retail destination with features such as a garden and home centre, a naturopathy, regular food trucks and recreational events, dining venues that promote fresh produce from the garden to the dining table, an organic grocer and a day spa. It is anticipated the new precinct, which was embarked upon by Maple Developments due to the area's ever-growing tourism industry as well as low land and operational costs, will be opened midway through 2026.
