The event will be the first introduced into Moreton Bay by the global franchise, which has held 7,000 start-up weekends involving about 428,000 participants in excess of 150 countries. The aim is to bring big-thinking individuals together to work, as well as to allow them to learn how to establish and grow a business from sponsors, investors and mentors.
Mayor of Moreton Bay Peter Flannery said participants in the first Techstars Startup Weekend will receive the mentorship and framework to enable their ideas to become reality. They will receive a unique insight into starting and growing a business, and he added:
“Aspiring entrepreneurs will get first-hand experience into the highs, lows, fun and pressure that make up life as a start-up, fittingly hosted at USC Moreton Bay, the hub of innovation and bright ideas for our region.”
Such events have often also provided inspiration towards creating important tools for branding such as a Logo Design.
On the opening night of the Techstars Startup Weekend, which runs from 10 to 12 June, individuals will have an opportunity to pitch their start-up idea. Teams will then be formed to work on the ideas and how to turn them it into a business. On Sunday, the business ideas will be pitched to a judging panel.
