The aim of the Business Growth Fund and Entrepreneur grants, announced recently by Shannon Fentiman, the minister for employment and small business, is to help more local businesses gain momentum and grow, which in turn can create additional job opportunities. Applications are open to all types of businesses ranging from printing services to engineering firms.
Fentiman said the entrepreneur grants targeted a company’s start up period and were designed to provide them with a kickstart by making it possible to obtain expert support and advice towards sustainable growth. She added:
“Our Entrepreneur Grants assist some of our State’s newest small businesses by giving them the vital support they need as they are just starting out with grants of up to $5,000.
In an effort to simplify the application process and attract more local businesses from throughout the state, Fentiman has released a schedule of current and upcoming grant opportunities.
Grant applications are currently being received for Small Business Artisan Producers with applications closing on August 22, Small Business Entrepreneur which closes on August 30, and Business Growth Fund, which is assessed on September 16.
On November 11, applications will open for Small Business Digital grant funding, closing on April 8, 2020.
