Caboolture library is among many venues across the Moreton Bay region offering low-cost and free activities for children during the school holidays.
Council museums, galleries, environmental centres and libraries are providing kids with a huge range of activities to keep them occupied in a fun and entertaining way, according to Mayor of Moreton Bay Peter Flannery. He added:
“Learn to juggle with our Circus Skills workshop, find yourself in nature with our all-inclusive Scavenger Hunt and Nature Journaling experiences, or you can learn to scooter, skateboard and BMX at one of our skatepark clinics and so much more!"
The council programme known as Active Holidays, which is available from 10 to 23 January, also features an impressive selection of water, nature, sport and adventure activities.
The mayor said many children are already involved in activities at museums, galleries and libraries, including events such as the interactive exhibition Green Screen, which gives entire families a chance to create stories making use of stop-motion animation, plus more.
Flyer printing campaigns have often helped to alert residents to the many programmes available for children during the summer break, which this year also includes experiences for teens as well, such as the Escape Room of Harry Potter at the library in Redcliffe, plus other interests, including LEGO and Minecraft.
