Creative juices are set to flow within the Caboolture hub as part of a newly-introduced council initiative aimed at bringing the community together in a fun and creative way.
Between July and October, Moreton Bay Council together with Creative Alliance, will stage a host of vibrant activities aimed at involving people of all ages.
During August, locals will have an opportunity to join Margaret Makareta Leathart, artist-in-residence, as she conducts weaving demonstrations and community workshops focused on the art of Maori weaving.
As the month progresses, so too will a dominant sculptural tree, a product of Margaret’s weaving, that showcases the meaning and symbols of the Maori culture.
Young musicians will be featured in The Caboolture Hub one Saturday each month for the Young Mic (under 18s) event, with performances taking place from 10am to midday. Members of the community are urged to go along and enjoy the free live music.
While visiting the talented artists between August 3 and 12, the public will also be able to pop into the Caboolture Festival, where foodie delights, family fun, entertainment and live music will be available in abundance.
The 2019 festival programme will combine popular annual events with a few innovative new attractions. Events such as this are often advertised using posting printing services.
Highlights include Garden to Plate dinner, Strawberry Sunday, Family Fun Day, Entertainment by Dragon at the Outdoor Saturday Night Concert, Caboolture Gemfest and the Homestead Talent Expo.
