On offer through the State Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF), the grants provide between $500 and $35,000 worth of funding for worthy organisations. The funds can be used to introduce initiatives to help promote and develop an individual not-for-profit organisation. Promotions can include the use of flyer printing, which a traditional method used to raise awareness.
Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath said the GCBF, which is now into its 25th year, had helped many initiatives and projects across the state receive a much-needed boost, adding:
“These grants could significantly contribute to the success of an eligible start-up, social enterprise, or a more established community organisation. If you’re currently looking for the financial support to enable you to make a more valuable contribution to the community, then now is the time to take action.”
D’Ath said that in the latest round of grant funding a sewing charity that makes things for vulnerable people, a network that helps prevent suicide and a group that helps the needy by recycling baby goods, joined more than 600 other organisations that shared in the $13 million funding pool.
Grant applications for funding in Round 100 must be received by February 28. Further information is available online.
