Caboolture venues to host festival shows

Caboolture is among many places set to host art-fuelled performances as part of the Moreton Bay's inaugural Anywhere Festival.

Described as a unique and exciting cultural experience, the festival sees the performing arts step away from traditional theatre stages and into locations that are more unusual and easily accessible.

Mayor of Moreton Bay Peter Flannery said the shows could pop up literally anywhere, including in businesses and neighbourhood settings close to where people live. He added:

“Head to Ocean View Estates for a tongue-in-cheek winery tour, Bribie Island will be hosting a super-charged karaoke showdown in Brennan Park, and a pop-up cabaret is coming to The Hills District Community Hall, just to name a few!”

Poster printing campaigns have often helped to boost awareness of unique festival activities and venues such as the Anywhere Festival. A programme for the festival covers a wide range of activities that will be brought to life in many surprising and innovative spaces.

The mayor said that in its inaugural year in the region, the festival has attracted participation by 13 businesses and 70 performing artists from the local area, as well as 20 of Moreton Bay Council's venues.

Flannery added that cultural activations like the Anywhere Festival, which will be held from May 6 to 23, have proven to be advantageous to businesses that have taken part in other areas of Brisbane. Tickets and further information are available online from the anywhere.is website.
