The area is in for major rehabilitation and upgrade works in at least 10 locations, according to a list of Budget highlights released recently by the council. They range from construction of a vandal-proof toilet block at Caboolture’s Bluebell Street Park and a $450,000 renewal of Dances Road Sportsground’s softball field to a $1.7 million Bellmere Road rehabilitation and $1.5m Morayfield Skate Park upgrade.
Adam Hain, a Division 3 councillor, said it is time to implement changes in the area that will elevate its drawing power and make it a great place for all ages to live and enjoy. He added:
“We have the advantage of having multiple established city centres around Caboolture and Morayfield with the added lifestyle benefits of a country town all rolled into one, but it’s time we brought our infrastructure and recreation facilities up to the standard that locals deserve.”
A $3.6m two-year project to revamp the Dickson Street and William Berry Drive intersection to improve traffic movement at Morayfield Shopping Centre is among big-ticket items, according to the councillor.
The centre, which has featured on many brochure printing campaigns that promote the area, is considered a major drawcard.
Hain added that the $1.5m upgrade at Morayfield Skate Park is due to be completed before the end of the 2022-23 financial year.
