Talented high school students from Milperra and throughout the Bankstown City Council area have been competing for a spot in the Council’s 2016 Talent Advancement Program (TAP).
The annual search for young local singers to audition for TAP was launched following the recent return of the 2015 group of 14 vocalists from a string of vocal performances in America.
Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour said becoming a member of TAP provided a great opportunity for vocalists to display and develop their musical talents.
He said students who participated in the latest trip to America were able to gain the rare experience and added confidence of performing on an international stage at venues that included Disneyland, Colorado’s City Hall, and at Container Park in the popular city of Las Vegas.
In addition to being featured on promotional Brochures and Posters in each of the towns, the talented singers have also returned with renewed polish and confidence in their abilities, according to the Mayor
Mayor Asfour paid tribute to the exceptional talent of children within the Bankstown City Council area, and said the 2015 TAP members overseas visit had left a lasting impression on American audiences
