Riverfront land in Milperra to be redeveloped for new homes

Eighteen hectares of land has been sold to make way for a new housing development in Milperra.

The riverside land formerly belonged to the Riverlands Golf Course and is now known as Riverlands Milperra. It was rezoned back in 2016, when it was approved for a low level residential development. Mirvac closed the deal on the area of land as part of its future development strategy.

Mirvac plans to build 350 quality new homes based on environmentally friendly designs. Existing trees will be incorporated into the planning with the buildings orientated to be unobtrusive and take advantage of the area’s views. Graphic design is often used to help create plans for new developments such as this.

Amenities will also be built within the housing estate with tennis courts, a pool and barbecue incorporated into the overall design. A new cycleway is also to be built, which will run alongside the river. The project is expected to be completed by 2025.

Stuart Penklis, head of residential, said the company’s vision is to unlock riverside land running alongside the Georges River and create a housing community that has the opportunity to flourish.

Mirvac is believed to have obtained the land from current owners Abacus Property Group and developer, Demian Developments and is the latest in multiple ownership deals, including the rezoning of the golf course.
