What's Happening in Condell Park, NSW…

New community set to emerge on former golf course site

A large 18-hectare Milperra site has been acquired for future residential development by the Mirvac Group.

Originally the site of a golf course – up until 2016, when rezoning to residential came into effect – Riverlands offers some great advantages, including its direct access to major transport routes such as the newly duplicated motorway known as the M5. The East Hills Station is also just 3.5 kilometres from the site.

In addition, future upgrades to the Metro Rail for Bankstown West scheduled for 2024, as well as existing infrastructure that includes local schools and shopping villages on the doorstep, are set to benefit future residents.

Providing river foreshore access for community members was uppermost in the minds of designers, who have included a riverfront cycleway extending 3.5 kilometres that links two of Canterbury Bankstown Council's reserves in the proposed development. It also advocates the construction of 350 homes and numerous amenities, such as a pool, barbecue area and tennis courts.

Mirvac's Stuart Penklis commented that the latest acquisition and development proposal, which when submitted to the council often include a detailed graphic design, is well located, and added:

“Our vision is to unlock the riverside parklands along the Georges River where a new community can thrive and grow. We will be creating Mirvac quality designed homes that reflect the environment, by being nestled in and amongst the existing trees and carefully orientated to maximise views of the surrounding area.”

Subject to development approvals, the project has been earmarked for completion in 2025.
