A fine art workshop will be held for student teachers in Milperra this December.
The session will be specifically tailored to students who are in the pre-service stage of their training and will provide the opportunity for participants to explore the use of materials often used in the fine arts.
Participants will be able to become acquainted with mediums such as acrylic paints, ceramics and canvases as well as how to use both wet and dry tools for drawing. The session will also allow students the freedom to use self-expression in the application of different art mediums.
A variety of techniques and skills will be taught on the day, with a focus on the fundamentals of different art elements such as line, shape, space, value, form, texture and colour.
Attendees will also be taught how to create a map of the art experience, which may include graphic design. The map helps students to think critically about their work by creating a visual representation of the journey undertaken when creating artwork.
The workshop will also highlight different ways teachers can facilitate their lessons to create flexible experiences for their students and will also discuss the need for positive feedback.
The class will be run on Monday 16th December from 10am to 4pm at Western Sydney University and costs $30 per person.
