‘A Multicultural Lens: Child, Youth, Family, Community Conference’ will be held at Warwick Farm in September.
The conference is run by CORE Community Services and the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, and will focus on issues such as domestic and family violence and single parenting. The main guest speaker at the conference will be Professor Jioji Ravulo from the University of Sydney. Other speakers will include Commissioner Robert Fitzgerald AM from the NSW Ageing and Disability Commission, and Jorge Aroche, CEO of the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors.
The conference, which will be held near Milperra, aims to bring together a variety of support services to explore the issues surrounding children, youth, and families from multicultural backgrounds. These support services may come to the event equipped with Business Cards available for attendees to take with them as required.
CORE Community Services began in 2015, after starting life initially as an English class for refugees from Indo-China in 1978. CORE Community Services focusses on CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) communities, as well the aged, people with disabilities, children, youth and families, and people undergoing financial difficulties.
