The South West Sydney Jobs and Skills Expo was held at the new Bankstown library and knowledge centre and was open to residents from across the area including Milperra.
More than 60 companies and training organisations across 22 industries took part in the event which was attended by around 4000 local residents and students from the area’s high schools.
A large number of the jobs advertised were filled on the day of the expo, and City of Canterbury-Bankstown Administrator Richard Colley said more were likely to be filled in the coming weeks. He said:
“It was a very successful day and the feedback we received from local jobseekers and the 65 exhibitors was very positive.”
Job seekers who have found a potential job to apply for could think about using a professional Print company to help them produce a CV and covering letter that will stand out from the crowd.
The event also included around 25 exhibitors offering training opportunities with many of those places also filled and a number of workshops on related topics such as resume writing and interview skills.
The expo was held in early June and is an annual event organised by Bankstown Council.
