A family stroll along the picturesque Georges River, which flows past East Hills and Milperra, turned out to be an ideal opportunity to snap what has become the winning snap in the annual My Place Photography contest.
The competition is held annually by Bankstown City Council.
Michelle Anthony, who snapped her winning entry during a weekend stroll along the boardwalk overlooking the Georges River, said her family were regulars to the riverside location.
She described her photograph as a nice moment between the children, and was thrilled it had achieved top place in the competition.
She added that it was great to live within the City of Bankstown, which provided so many amazing places to visit and appreciate.
The top Youth Entry was awarded to teenager Jarrad Crawford for his entry titled ‘Photo within a Photo’.
Mayor Khal Asfour praised the quality of entries, many of which were considered good enough to feature on Presentation Folders and Promotional Products.
He said judges were given a tough task in selecting the winning photos from such a strong field of great entries.
Anthony’s efforts won her the $1,000 first prize, while Jarrad took home $500 courtesy of the Bankstown Credit Union, which was the major sponsor.
The 10 top images from this year’s competition will be on display in the My Place Photography exhibition at Bass Hill Plaza throughout February.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products Get a Free Quote for Presentation Folders
