Fizzics Education will be coming to the Castle Hill Museum’s Discovery Centre in the April school holidays to present workshops and activities for school-aged children.
A full day Creative Coding workshop will teach kids some easy-to-use programs such as Blockly, Scratch and FlipRobotics. Kids will extend their understanding while having fun learning how to use coding to program games and robots. This workshop is suitable for grades three to seven.
Forensics Fun is aimed at junior sleuths who like the combination of science and drama. Participants will follow clues and collect evidence. They will learn about fingerprinting, fibre and hair analysis, facial reconstruction using both computers and real models, shoe impression casting and latent image detection. This workshop is suitable for children in grades two to eight.
Perfect Paper Planes looks at the science of flight and will investigate levitating beach balls, flying toilet paper and what happens to shaving foam in a vacuum. Having learned about the forces involved in flight, participants will then construct perfect paper planes. This event is for students in grades two to six.
Organisations often use flyer printing to let people know about activities such as these.
Creative Coding will be held on Tuesday April 23rd from 9am-4pm and the cost is $100. On Wednesday April 24th, Forensics Fun will run from 9am-12pm and Perfect Paper Planes from 1pm-4pm and each will cost $45.
