Lovers of the arts have an opportunity to attend a rock-inspired musical in Castle Hill in October.
We Will Rock You is based on Ben Elton’s book. The story is a framework which enables the cast to perform 24 of Queen's greatest hits including favourites such as ‘We Are The Champions’, ‘Another One Bites The Dust’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and as the production suggests, ‘We Will Rock You’.
The storyline begins where Earth no longer exists, its name has become Planet Mall and everyone who lives there thinks the same, dresses the same and moves about in a trance-like haze. Composers and musical instruments are forbidden and rock music is basically unheard of.
The plot revolves around a group of individuals who oppose the system as they attempt to restore freedom of thought, live music and fashion to their planet. Interesting characters such as an old hippie librarian, Galileo, Scaramouche and two Bohemians take on the major corporation who rule the planet with an iron fist when they discover Brian May's guitar buried underneath the ruins of Wembley Stadium. This begins a hilarious and moving story of the revival of rock music.
The team behind the popular production is Packemin Productions which is well-known for hit productions such as ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’, ‘Mamma Mia!’, ‘Shrek’ and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’. Theatres often utilise poster printing to advertise upcoming attractions and shows.
We Will Rock You takes place on the 16th-24th October at the Pioneer Theatre in Castle Hill. Tickets are available on its website.
